Dual-SIM and eSIM phones can carry more than one IMEI

A phone with two physical SIM slots, or one physical slot plus an eSIM, reports a separate IMEI for each slot. Dial *#06# on the device to see every IMEI it carries before you start registration.

Check every IMEI, not just the first one

Send each IMEI separately as an SMS to 8484, or look them all up on the DIRBS portal. It is possible for one slot to already show compliant while the other still needs registration and tax, especially on a phone bought second-hand.

Registering on DIRBS

When you generate your PSID on dirbs.pta.gov.pk, the portal is built to handle multi-IMEI devices as a single registration for the physical unit, you are not charged the full tax twice for one phone. Follow the on-screen fields exactly as shown for your device type.

eSIM-only devices

An eSIM-only phone or watch still has one IMEI tied to its eSIM identity, and is registered exactly the same way as a physical-SIM device, an eSIM is not a way to skip PTA registration.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. DIRBS registers the physical device once; the multiple IMEIs belong to the same phone and are handled together in a single registration.
